Goldberg joked of the series' faceless mug logo, "Where are the pictures of the faces? We used to have pictures of the faces because people stuck around," while Behar added, "This [design] is in case they want to get rid of any of us!"
The episode kicked off with a clip featuring Scandal star Tony Goldwyn, prepping Behar over the phone for the premiere. "In the words of Donald Trump, it's gonna be tremendous, it's gonna be huge," she said with a smile.
After an introduction from Goldberg and lengthy applause from the audience, Behar laughed of the morning show's early call time, "I'm happy to be back, but when I saw my husband sleeping this morning when I was getting dressed to come here, I said, 'What did I do?! What did I do?!' "
The panel poked fun at their oft-rotating personalities, as Goldberg jokingly complained about the series’ new mug design of just the logo and the show’s hashtag and Twitter handle. “Where are the pictures of the faces? We used to have pictures of the faces because people stuck around. Come on,” she said, alluding to last season’s exiting panelists Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie Perez and Nicole Wallace. Behar then added, “This [design] is in case they want to get rid of any of us!”
